Vote for a Leader, not for a Magician

Voting. The act of waiting in line for two to four hours to shade some circles that are printed on extra long bondpapers and have your fingers inked in the hopes of electing someone who would miraculously solve all our problems. So better yet find the Wizard of Oz because in just three taps, all your wishes will come true. We all just need to go dancing our way, hand in hand, to his magical city by following the yellow brick road.

But no... because Mr. Oz didn't decide to run for President, and never will he.

We are voting, not because we would wait for these leaders to perform their abrakadabra and alakazam, but instead we vote because we believe that they could lead us. And that belief does not mean we would just merely wait for miracles. That belief involves us, voters, to show our full support - not only now on the Election day but also tomorrow as they start their reign as our leaders. So vote for your leader, not just a magician.

A Group of Pricks is Called a Cactus

If we could gather up all the unreasonable, irresponsible, immature people we have met, we could make ourselves a cactus. We could pin them one by one on a green cushion from bottom to top and let it stand upright to make it look like a legitimate spiny plant. Though it would be a site to see, it will be dangerous to come close because it is going to tempt you to hug it like how the dark side lured Anakin Skywalker to become Darth Vader.

Just like our relationship with some of the people we know, we knew and will know. At first, we thought that they would be a good addition to our Facebook friends list. After a while, you would learn that you would only get a notification from them when Facebook has reminded EVERYONE that today is your birthday; plus the occasional, "Please Like my Page". Because, either they did not play an important role in your life or you have just learned how toxic some people could be, and that is the worst. But what is even worst is that there are so many of these kind that we meet everyday and its such a breath of fresh air when we finally meet the Rose among the thorns. But before that, you had to go through all those spikes and vines leaving you scarred and tangled. They might have left you behind alone in a highway with a broken tire leaving no hint of assistance. They might have taken advantage of your weaknesses and exploited your flaws. Criticized and judged you behind your back while acting like a true friend. Left you with their trash that now is your responsibility or mocked you till you started doubting yourself.

But then you have gone through that, and you are OK. Then you start picking all those spikes and started pinning them on that green cushion. And you realize, grouping them together gave you a Cactus. A Cactus that belongs to a wasteland and despite being the only life in a barren area, you could still say that it belongs there. Because only they could continue living in such negativity and drown in positivity. Come to think of it, flowers only bloom in productive areas -- no offense to the Cactus.

Biting more than I can chew

So I was told that there was this new burger shop, and since I was around the neighborhood, i decided to drop by and get me some. The shop was full of customers and a dozen still in the waiting list, so I just decided to order for take-out and eat in the foodcourt.

I sat in the foodcourt, together with all other people eating for lunch and opened my order. The funny thing was that I wasn't the only one surprised to see a huge burger wrapped in bacons. (In the Philippines, normally we dont have this huge serving. usually its just 1/4 the size of this)

So anyway, when I tried to figure out how to start eating it, I noticed other people looking at me wondering how I can finish it alone, and if I CAN finish it at all.

I kept eating though, and every time I look around I can still see some of them watching me. It made me conscious to the point where I was ashamed to continue eating. But i ate it all anyway. No big deal. But those people looked at me, smiling in wonder how I was able to take that final bite.

Lego Van

So, last year some of my friends gave me these lego characters. Last Christmas, i asked for specific characters (goku, kakashi, chopper) to be my gift. Out of these characters, i gathered the extra pieces for future purposes.
And just this week, i decided to buy another goku character (since it had a lot of black pieces which i could use for my mini van's hair) and with all the other extra pieces, i was able to make myself a mini van lego version ^^

It was a hard thing to do though, because of all that hair and forming her face and all. Of course i didn't have any step-by-step instructions on how to assemble it since its my own character im doing. So luckily, after painstakingly trying out which works and which doesn't, I finally made a legit looking Lego version mini Van^^

Fairy Garden

My love for miniature stuff and care for the environment was put to test these past few months. I have been working on a fairy garden since November and these has been my progress

It started with an old unused drawer. Originally wanted to make a small pool where my turtles could stay

But it couldn't hold them in. They kept breaking out and i couldn't make a miniature waterfall without using an electric pump.

Did some hobbit house from cardboard and bought another bonsai to add to the garden.

It didn't last long, the hobbit house started to welt since it got wet every time i water the garden.

So i made a house out of clay and painted it. Added some lights to make it bright at night.

And finished it off with some moss and flowers, and its done! Hehe

I guess mini van can live here

The Force is strong with this one

The Force is strong with this one after 15 hours of #StarWars Marathon.
Back when i was in Elementary, i was part of our Star Wars School play. I played as one of Darth Maul's minions who ate mosquitoes and lined up when he commanded us to. And today i realized, Darth Maul never had any minions, nor did any one from this movie ate any mosquitoes....deceived i was.

I really cannot remember why i joined that play. I was not a fan of star wars because young as i was, i couldn't really conprehend what it was about. But now that there is this upcoming new movie and the generous movie marathon provided by star movies, i couldn't help myself but to watch it. And i wouldn't say i have wasted 15 hours of my time, because i enjoyed watching it for the very first time haha

May the force be with you!
Peace!

Winter is Coming

It's December first and winter is upon us. Snow doesnt fall here - never will it - but Christmas holidays are ticking fast. Its that time again when eating is non stop and diet will never ever start tomorrow. That time of the year when persistent carollers sing their famous "Jingum" Bells for a penny. That time of the year when you worry what could be LONG and HARD enough for your kris kringle activity at school/work for a price of 20 peso. Not to mention stressing over your manita's wish list for Xmas. Seriously? An iPad or an Iphone 5s or 6??? Com'n?!!? Who the hell is Lola Bunny anyway? And let's not forget our godchildrens who you have hidden from these past few years =P pa cheeseburger ka naman

We have already set our cash for spending even before our Xmas bonuses arrives. Which leaves us flat broke as the new year comes and crawling till the next payday.

Even so, our pockets may be empty and cold as snow, at least our hearts (and bellies) are full. And because of the warmth we have - most especially xmas holidays - no wonder there's no room for snow.

At least we do know some things

Being Surrounded by the Wrong People is the Loneliest thing in the World

People think being alone makes you lonely, but I don't think that's true. Being surrounded by the wrong people is the loneliest thing in the world.

I believe that I am a very flexible person, and I can co-exist easily in whatever biological system you are going to put me, but I believed wrong. I guess its foolish to believe so anyway. Sure, I will smile and wave, laugh along, if need be, in a group. But deep inside I might be drowning, gasping for air and paddling my ass out for freedom hoping to wake up from this nightmare. So the longer I will hang around, I might suffocate and all my talent to keep my composure will break lose like wild monkeys.
I would rather be alone than to experience such things. I was trying to understand what he or she is thinking so I could comprehend their actions. But no, I was just simply out of place. I have landed in another planet where my morals and their morals are quite different and its very overwhelming to some point where I wished the fishes and corals could talk so I can just converse with them and pigs to grow wings so we could have fried buttered pig wings too.

And being with such people makes you feel so reserved. Especially with people you hardly know. It's like you want to jump in there, but not yet. Jump, but not yet. Jump, and then again, nope, never mind. You hesitate because your actions might not be acceptable. Hesitate because they might not be able to handle our awesomeness.. lol
anyway, I'd rather stay in my room watching a cat playing the piano for hours, then waste my time with the wrong people

Dont Cry Over Spilt Milk

I was oh so ready for my 1 week vacation in Thailand and then shit started to happen. 3 hours before our flight, the airlines informed us that our flight was cancelled, seriously??!! Even after negotiations we were still delayed for 5 hours and we have almost given up on the idea of going to Phuket. Frustrated we were, but there was nothing we could do about the delays. But in the end, we did arrive in Phuket. Just when I thought the storm has passed, just right after landing in Phuket International Airport, I left my bag. Unintentionally, of course. Luckily though I still have my passport and some cash, which was surely not enough for the entire trip.....but I had to give up my sony headphones, action camera, my phone, ATM card, etc... lost my mind on the first day. Phuket was so pricy. I spent 4000 baht for just 2 days? But why cry over spilt milk? Like what I have said to the Thailand immigration officer, I'm going to ride an elephant!
(i guess i was a little sorry to the elephant, being forced to carry us like how horses are hooked to wagons here in the Philippines, aka Kalesas)

And so I did ride an elephant, and got to see tigers up close, and not to mention lady boys and authentic thai food, temples temples, and temples =P Though I held back a little (if not a lot) knowing I hadn't have enough cash, or almost close to none, I still got to enjoy Thailand (thanks to friends)

I can't blame anyone or any situation for my lost (bag) in thailand, because I know for a fact that I am very very very clumsy. I have better wrap my things around my neck so it will never happen again.

Pikachu I Choose You!

I am an anime kind of person. I grew up with it. So that basically means, I have grown up watching YuYu Hakusho, Dragonball, Slam Dunk and of course Pokemon. I remember one time in elementary, we had a magic show in school after the report cards were handed out. It was a school event that happened on a Friday night. Every Friday too, Pokemon airs on TV at 8:00 PM. Surely though, we knew the magic show would really be interesting because most people had decided to watch, but me and my brother? Well we went home to watch Pokemon. I guess it was not a hard decision at all; because Pikachu, I choose you! =]

Escape

If only life is as simple as pressing the ESC button; Undo all mistakes like hitting CTRL+Z, or even just pressing F5 to simply have that refreshing start. But no, it is not. Life was not meant to be full of shortcuts, otherwise we would have been built as computers rather than live as human beings. Life is not programmatically simple; but here we are! we have managed despite its complexity. I guess that's the beauty of it =]

My New Kitty

A week ago, the restaurant I always eat lunch at had new turtle pets. Being so attracted to small cute things, I was immediately jealous of the idea of having a pet turtle. Googled all the information about having one, but got tpo much trouble finding where to get one. Two weeks passed and I still couldn't get one, so I thought my craving (?) to have a turtle might pass... but it didnt.... luckily though, thanks to social media, after some shout-outs to friends and acquaintances, I finally got my hands to one.

I originally wanted to get a male turtle, but I was kinda attracted to this one (even though they looked exactly the same), so I just took her and now she is officially a member of my family, Tita the turtle =]

Broke to the ground

Have you ever been so broke you had to literally dig your purse out for that last penny? I guess it happens to most of us. Either we spend our money wisely or clumsily (and even accidentally), we just sometimes get to ground zero. But yeah...it happens, most probably, to all of us, so what the heck? If we're broke, we're broke! But don't let it get to you. Money won't shower down like rain on September, but keep digging until you find your own pirate's treasure =] I'm sure you will get a penny one way or another 🙋

Toilet Throne

Most of the people dear to me are sick these days. So why should I be an exception? Here I am having a terrible stomach ache and the toilet has basically become my favorite place today. Whether I eat or not, something just wants to come out. I'm gonna lose weight, that's the bright side. I won't be going to work, that's actually part of the bright side (I guess hahaha) but what sucks is that the idea of having diarrhea is already a pretty bad thing. Who wants to sit in the bowl a thousand times in a day anyway?

Grow Up. Don't grow old

Its inevitable to grow up, but it's not necessary to grow old, if you know what I mean. Oh sure you can be an adult and do adult things but that doesn't mean you have to give up the child within you. Because at some point, we all know that we never lost our childhood within us even if our body protests. But yeah, young or not, nobody can stop us from dipping our fingers in the Nutella jar.

Music Therapy

My stress level has almost gone off the charts and its bothering me so so much. I have de-stressed my way by eating, sleeping, movie watching, hanging out with friends, but this time, listening to music is the only thing that works.. And just so wish itll suck all this negativity away from me from every drop of my mind to avoid insanity. Stress stress go away.

See You Again

Woke up to this tune. See You Again by Charlie Puth (No rap version) and got me all melodramatic early in the morning. Really literally woke me up when I heard the song playing on MTV. Apparently this song was in a famous movie, but I wasn't really a fan so I just heard it now. It's kind of sad though, the lyrics, which also makes sense why it was used for the most recent Fast and Furious movie. Well, this song makes me miss my times with some best buds and even my late grandpa. Miss miss miss....

Vanana

Soon, Minions the Movie will be out in cinemas. I remembered last year I watched the previous Movie alone. It was strange because it was funny but I was laughing alone. So sad, isn't it? It doesn't bother me anyway coz these guys are good company haha and actually, I just dared myself to watch a movie alone in a cinema. Nailed the challenge hehe but this time, I would rather have somebody(s) with me to watch these little crazy guYs !! Can't wait!

I should start working out. Tomorrow

They say it's hard to quit smoking. I think, it's equally as hard to go on a diet. You are at that moment where you dream to have that perfect bikini body (or somewhere close to that) and prepare your routines to attain that shape but then here comes food and your ever grumbling stomach. And then, all your dreams disappear. Like, "so what, I'm hungry and we should never deprive ourselves from food. YOLO!" But after a moment.... regret. And you even try to exercise a bit to compensate for that (so much) extra weight you have eaten. So yeah...I will start working out...after I eat this food. ^^

Mango Float

Here in the Philippines, especially Cebu, sweet mangoes (and also the green ones) are really good. So every time there is a special gathering, Christmas, birthdays and even just because you want to, you can make this very quick and easy sumptuous dessert. Its quite easy to make, really. But I really do prefer to be eating it rather than making it. I don't want to make my hands dirty hehehe. Well, the perks of making it is that you get the chance to munch in a part of the mango which can't be added to this dessert. I guess munching in the course of cooking is rather natural or shall I say, it should be part of it to be able to check if it actually taste great =P

Well, if you would want a tutorial on how to make this simple yet amazing dessert, go to YouTube and I'm sure you will find a lot haha. Like I have said, I prefer eating than making one =]
